As part of international judicial and security cooperation, Polish citizen Wiktor Andrzej Szeliga was recently deported from Morocco to the United States, after being cleared of all charges filed against him within the Kingdom.
Szeliga had been arrested in the city of Marrakech based on an international arrest warrant issued against him, before investigations confirmed that he was not involved in any wrongdoing on Moroccan territory.
The deportation was carried out in direct coordination with U.S. authorities to ensure that the investigations there could proceed smoothly and without obstacles, reflecting Morocco’s full commitment to the principles of international cooperation in the security and judicial fields.
This case illustrates how countries can balance the protection of individual rights with international cooperation in handling cross-border cases, enhancing Morocco’s reputation as a reliable partner in international security efforts.
